CPA assesses competence in using ECGA's (Electronic Combustion Gas Analysers) and is for registered gas operatives working on boilers and/or gas fires. From February 2010 anyone not already carrying out these works who wishes to do so, will need CPA1 as well as CEN1 (boilers) and HTR1 (fires and heaters). Registered gas operatives who currently hold CEN1 and/or HTR1 will have a limited time-probably until the renewal date of their CEN1 or HTR1- in which to do so.
Domestic Solar Hot Water is for experienced plumbers and allied trades wishing to offer solar hot water their customers. This is a BPEC certified course and is recognised by the Solar Trade Association (STA). The course takes place over 2-3 days and covers installation, commissioning and servicing of all popular system types. A prerequisite of enrolment is that applicants hold a domestic unvented gas hot water certificate, however, we can also offer a combined solar/unvented package to those who do not already do so.
